Is anyone dissatified with the brakes on this model? Our car seems to require a lot of force to brake. I have replaced both the front & back brakes and there is no difference. I don't know if it is because I am used to 4 wheel discs on my other cars and this one has drums in the rear or if I have another problem. Can anyone recommend a good combination of parts that would ease my problem? Is there a conversion kit for the rear to make them disc brakes? Open to any suggestions..

A lot of the aftermarket front pads for the Sebring are crappy. I've been upgrading mine with Bendix rotors and pads with good results.

Did you put semi-mettalic pads and shoes on yours? A small car should stop easily with rear drums! Did you turn or replace the rotors and drums? If there are a lot of dark spots on the mating surface the metal is heat hardened and will not grip the pads/ shoes as well!

Our Sebring with 4 wheel disk had very touchy brakes(took too litte effort). I replaced the front OE pads after a couple years with med. quality aftermarket pads and the brakes were much better, just required a little more pressure.

Now at 47K miles the brakes require a lot of pressure for a quick stop, they pulsate some and make noise when applied hard. I examined the brakes today and all the rotors are covered with heat marks. The front pads are barely worn but the rear are getting thin. I know the rotors are warped some and with the heat marks explains why it requires so much more pedal pressure to stop now.

I want to go with a better quality rotors like Bendix or I'll go for a drilled rotor. Too many of the lower cost rotors are low quality steel and they will warp or get heat hardened easily. I put drilled rotors on my Grand Cherokee and am happy so far.
