Always wanted a 9-5 aero, gr8 gas mileage, 250hp, saw it do 40-70 on top gear in rediculous time.
I checked autos.msn carsurvey.org and read other consumer reviews and the 9-5 aero manual seems pretty reliable.

I don't see a NJ state inspection (do they only do inspection every 4 years for new cars?) There is a green sticker on the windshield..I'll have to ask.
And it seems every 5K miles it was serviced at a SAAB dealership, not sure for what though.

Looks like a good deal. Pretty low miles. Appears to still have a warranty. The service every 5k is probably just routine oil change and yada yada yada, but according to the carfax report, the time interval for the 5k miles was over 6 months a lot of the time so I would think it should have been serviced every three or four months. Also, it is a turbo car so find out how long the engine parts are supposed to last like timing belt, turbo, oil pump/lines, all that stuff. I'd probably go up to 10 grand at first then bid a little more at a time.

That's true, GM used a chain on a good portion of their sedans.

I would pay around 13-14 and no more, just because of the scratches. They retail for around 17. I'd test drive it first if you are relatively close by.

Heh heh, the "Saabaru." It looks good to me. Just remember that the Linear is the NA version (i.e., RS). The 9-2 Aero is a turbo model (WRX). Also, I looked at some old posts regarding the 9-2 and the only difference between it and the Impreza is interior egronomics and features as well as arguably better styling for the Saab. I would only get it if you want the heated leather, sunroof and the toys. Otherwise, you'll save money on the Subaru version. Plus there weren't that many 9-2s made for the US so they may be a bit overpriced.

Im going tomarrow 2:30 P.M to look at it. Carfax shows they have the car since 6/11/07. one owner..looks like traded-in. I think he'll negotiate well since it will be hard for him to find a young customer in NJ wanting a manual SAAB :P
I saw Subaru Legacies for the same price w/o leather/roof.
Also, this one has xenon lights and firmer suspension with softer struts, all aluminum.
My dad told me to start at negotiating at $11,000 w/o my trade-in, is that too low?

I'm trading in a 95 accord ex-v6. inside is clean with leather and roof, but it has dings n shit. Kbb "fair" condiftion is around $2000 for trade-in; hoping to get atleast $2000.
Honestly, after trade-in and doc fees, before taxes etc..I think $13K is a good deal for such car..

I don't think 11k is too low. Its just the start price after all. If he really is desperate, you might even be able to knock it down a little less than 13k, especially if you got a big downpayment or if you're gonna buy it outright and no financing. Still, 13k is an extremely good deal IMO considering what you're getting. 2005 model, really low miles, one owner, should still have a factory warranty, and it's nice. Really nice. Even if it doesn't have a turbo.

I wouldn't worry about that trade in either. You know they will be able to resell that Honda easily.

I got it for $13,600 out the door with trade-in. It had like two 3-inch scratches though, one on each side but discrete locations. I'll have to find the touch-up paint for this color.
The clutch is amazingly smooth. Im not used to driving stick but is the stick lever supposed to vibrate sometimes? The engine is much quieter in higher gear, especially in 5-th no matter the rpm. I guess that's normal.

Man this thing turns on a dime. I did a perfect 90 degree turn with hand brake when i test drove it, scared the sales guy lol. Doing 40mph on 15-20mph ramps would make my honda screetch its tires..now I do it and it's like butter.

I can't wait until our first blizzard in NY! Saw mill river prkwy here I come.
