So I have a 6 disk changer but no speakers or amp. My bro told me to get rid of the disk changer and get a single disk receiver and get two twelves. Now my only problem is, is that I dont know what kind of speakers and amp I should get, as well as what type of reciever? What do you think?

Now to try and answer your question. There are alot of variables here. How much are you planning on spending? And what are you looking for? A good system with good SQ (sound quality), a pounding SPL (sound pressure level) system, something for competitions, or just to listen to around town?

When you say you have a 6 disk changer, I take it for granted you have a changer, but no headunit correct? Maybe you could just get an HU that would work with the changer.

Toss up some more info, and ill be glad to help as best as I can :)

-k- just want the system for around town you know just to have. I want to probably spend a little over $ 800 on speakers, amp, and reciever all together. I like my music to hit and my factory speakers are hurtin when it comes to this.

around town...

what tpye of music are u listening to, and how loud do you listen to it?
do you want to upgrade your highs (components or dual range speakers) at all?

if your lookin at 800$ on subs, amp, and head unit.... realize that in head unit u will spend anywhere from 100$ ( low qaulity, good model, or good qaulity low model), to 350$ for head unit.
subs i can think of atleast 4 good subs you could get, reputable brands, with 200-400 watts RMS, for 10s or 12s for about 100$ for pair, and then u have amp left, .
id invest the majority of the money in your amp, and subs, that will gie you the most results, all you really need in a deck for thsi system is a 4volt pre out, and a good defualt tracking rating ( measured in micrometers, as how well the deck tracks scratched cds)

but it depends on what u want
answer first part of this..

1. To answere first Q, I listen to all kinds of shit. Mainly punk/rap/alternative stuff........Ex.: anywhere from Limp Bizkit to Sum 41 to Jay Z. Just depends.

2. As far your second Q goes, I dont really know what your talking about!!! I dont know a lot about cars or the speakers and shit in them thats why I came on here and asked.

I just dont want to get worked by some salesmen and end up with a P.O.S system.:)

u can get a deck with 4 volt preout for about 180$ from JVC or pioneer

that leaves u with about 600$ to spend on subs, box, amp, and installation
thats a good amount to get a great sounding system
maybe hollywood excursion subs, theyre cheap and sound great with 400watts RMS power handling and a price of about 80$ each u cant go wrong

Sorry, my bad. MA Audio and Mobile Authority is two different companys. Mobile Authority isn't worth the money, but MA Audio is quite nice for the price, and if you can get a good deal, I'd say go for it.

Personally, I run MB Quart components and JL Audio subs.
