i had the same problem with walmart so i just grab random people and ask them to buy the paint for me and the cashiers get pissed, but it has worked so far, lol.

and yhander, it looks like your trunk lid does not line up right in the picture, and if that is the case try adjusting the black rubber knobs along where the trunk seals to make it line up right. i dont know why that bugs me so much, but when i see a cavy going down the road and see that the lights dont line up right i just want cry :crying:

Hey handor, you didnt sand anything or prime anything right? That is just straight spray paint on the stock parts?

yhandor
07-18-2007, 02:22 PM
The interior? Just primer, paint and clearcoat, no sanding.

Lefix

Hey guys help me out on something...

Im planning to sand everything and then prime and then paint, but i cant sand the vinyl thats on the dash and the arm rest and the center console and stuff, so if i sand parts of the dash and just spray the other parts with Dupli-color vinyl and fabric paint, its gonna look weird...

yeah, the two rubber knobs on the trunk lid are for adjusting the way it sits when its closed, and same for under the hood, there are some there too. i know this cuz when i got my cavy the guy had the hood and trunk all out of alignment and it looked stupid, so i just started twisting on those knobs and they fixed the problem.

You can actually sand the vinyl. You just to be careful to not over do it. You only want to sand it down enough to just break the upper texture portion of the vinyl. First cavi center console I ever did was for a friend and I got a little too wild on it and messed it up big time. Best bet is to hit a yard and find a finyl section like the center console or the dash or hell, even the airbag covers will work and try some stuff out on it.

Ad yes DB, ghetto. Nothing to my knowledge was taken out, no sanding, no fiber glassing. And do I need to look for the old pic of all the spray paint on the floor board carpet? :shakehead

New pedals
White foglight panel
No overspray
Manual console w/shift boot and all white top (aside from the lid)
White lower door thresholds
White gauge face
Looks like the top of the dash near the windshield is white now, unless it's just the glare.
There's also a button or something in front of the mileage, what is that?

yhandor
