ok so i got a 98 plymouth neon and and i blew a head gasket on it so i recently fixed the head gasket but for some reason i am leaking water and oil really badly now. i checked the pressure on the radiator to see if it was leaking and it held pressure with no leak after 30 mins but once i start driving it doesnt take but 10-15 mins to start smoking and overheating. and im not sure if the oil leak and water leak are connected anyone else have any info on it i would appreciate it

where are you leaking the oil from? this sounds like 1) your head gasket was fixed crappily, not torqued right, etc..

or 2) the head gasket blowing was the result of something else wrong OR the head gasket blowing caused something to break.. (such as the head warping.. thatd leak oil and water..)

well i had the head checked to make sure that it was still flat and it checked out fine. so if anything the fix job could be crappy i did it myself i did have my dad check it though he is a mechanic and he said its fine. and i havent managed to find were the leak is coming from i had someone suggest it could be the cam gaskets but i replaced those cause the other ones were pretty ratty looking.

hmm. icic so the water AND oil arent leaking from the same spot?

i mean they're leaking to the floor? if anything, the water leak will prolly be from the radiator hoses.. if the problems are seperate... if the blown headgasket caused some heating + pressure in the hoses.. and caused the two SEPERATE problems, you might be lookin at something like hoses, oil pan?

although i doubt that, its worth a shot? check hoses, etc for crack..specially the darn heater hoses. those guys suck when they leak from it..cuz it doesnt leak a LOT while youre driving, just enough to over heat your damn car.. (had that happen on my maro)
