I posted earlier about my Service 4wd light and nothing has changed... noone can find out what it is,including the chevy dealership shop... We have no idea and have replaced almost everything on the front end...

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can put in a manual 4wd selector in the floor.. if so please post asap and in case it is important, it has the auto 4wd selector also...

I want my truck back

If you have the "auto 4wd" the dealership should be able to pull codes on their scanner. I tried to find your previous posts but was unable.

If you can get the DTC's please post back along with the year, model and engine.

Most of the time if you a have problem with the tx case the push button lights will blink. With the 4WD light on most of the time it relates to the front differential not engaging.

When you select 4WD there is a switch on the TX case that sends a signal to the front actuator.

You say that you've replaced almost everything on the front end. What does that include?

The code was something like a low sensor input and every time the codes were cleared it just comes back up in a matter of less than a second. We replaced the transfer case motor, the switch on the dash, and the switch on the transfer case...then he replaced some other stuff but hasnt told me exactly what yet... ill post when he gets that to me...

Ok, so post back all that was replaced along with the codes.

As far as putting in a manual 4wd selector in the floor I don't think so. All this stuff is electronic (push buttons, modules, wiring) all going to elecrically operated components (tx case motor, front axle actuator, etc.).

I can tell you about '99's and older. Your '00 has a BCM (body control module) that may have some interface with the 4wd system. I'm just not sure.

My '98 sub (actually a VIN'd '99 carryover) has the Auto 4wd system. There are 2 fuses that you maybe have and should replace even though they may check good. They are the 4WD and TCase fuses.

Wish I could help you more but because I don't have a newer model GM manual I'm kinda in the dark especially about the BCM interface with the 4WD system.

Maybe someone else will step in once you post the codes and all the units that were replaced.
