1993 Honda Accord warm weather starting problemsb-734 07-04-2007, 04:16 PM I have 2-1993 Honda Accord LX's that run and start fine in cooler weather, but when it gets hot, and the car sits in the sun, it will start and die, or not start at all. I try starting with my foot off the gas (normal), and then gas pedal 1/2 down, and if still not start, gas pedal to the floor. I try multiple, times, and if doesn't start, let it sit. I go thru proceedure multiple times, and sooner or later, it starts and runs normal. It does this intermittently, but always in hot weather. After starting, there is no cloud of smoke (flooded). The starter/battery/etc. all turn over fine. It is almost as if fuel is getting cut off, and then for no reason, fuel gets to the engine fine. It happens in both my cars. The fuel filter has been changed in one, but not the other. In cold weather, never a problem and starts normal. Any help? mpumas 07-05-2007, 01:27 AM The main relay is the first thing to check. It is under the dash on the drivers side on the kick panel. If that is OK, check igniter and then coil. b-734 07-05-2007, 11:28 PM thanks for the info. Is there a quick way to check these? or do I need to take it to a mechanic with all the correct diagnostic equipement to do this. Thanks again. mpumas 07-06-2007, 01:45 PM Look at the following thread for a similar problem http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=721115leaedfo Just about everything on this site requires some mechanical ability and some basic tools to troubleshoot the problem. If you have neither, you might have to resort to a mechanic.l vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
