Hi all,

My truck is a 2000 Z71 with aprox 146,000 miles.

While the truck is running and sitting still (for at least 5 minutes) My gas gauge will drop to E and my low fuel light will come on. If I SHAKE the truck the gauge will move back to position. After a period of time or I'm guessing that the gas in the tank has settled, the gauge will move back to E again.

This behavior ONLY happens while truck is sitting still.

Is this a problem with the sending unit or is there another mechanical part that may be going bad.

I would greatly appreciate any information on my problem.

Thanks
Taz

Most likely the sending unit. SU & Fuel pump are one module located inside the tank.

That is exactly what mine is doing! I have already talked to the service manager about getting that done here in the near future.
