LeSabre97mint 07-02-2007, 10:28 AM Hello What year is your Windstar? Have you searched the internet for this issue? I've found sites that explaine what E85 will destroy. Regards Dan Tinker84 07-03-2007, 11:00 AM it is a 2003 SE and all i can find is that stupid government list that only posts the ready made FFV's. :banghead: i know ethanol eats older types of synthetics, but i dont know if the newer models used updated materials in the fuelling system. i dont know what sensors i would need to replace, either wiswind 07-03-2007, 10:32 PM I went into the technical discussions forum from the Automotive Forums main page and did a search on "Flex Fuel" (E85 and E 85 got nothing). Here are a couple of discussions that came up. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=673354&highlight=flex+fuel http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=652916&highlight=flex+fuel http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=606979&highlight=flex+fuel LeSabre97mint 07-03-2007, 10:40 PM dave justice 09-28-2007, 06:06 PM To run E85 you will need an E85 conversion kit. I bought mine at www.change2E85.com (http://www.change2E85.com). It was easy to install and works great. You don't have to change anything as far as gaskets, fuel pumps, etc unless your car was made before 1985. Tinker84 10-01-2007, 01:02 AM i have actually been running e85 all summer, my first post being in july, and it now being october. it performed well unless the temperature dropped, then i would have to reset the computer because of a lean mix flag. i am considering putting in a block heater, and heater core in the intake shortly after the filter and trying to carry it over into the colder months. the only thing i dont like, is the fact that even at 2.20/gal, the low mpg still brings my bill up to roughly the same cost per mile travelled as regular gas.:dunno: dave justice 10-08-2007, 10:25 PM E85 has dropped to $1.99 a gallon in Colorado! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
