whats that tuscan in password swordfishMenu dei Motori 11-02-2002, 04:41 AM is it a speed 6? YellowMaranello 11-02-2002, 07:53 PM I tihnk its a Tuscan S, but I really don't know how to tell the difference, short of lookng at the badge on it. Menu dei Motori 11-03-2002, 05:09 AM hmmm some other opinions? jsb88 11-05-2002, 09:23 AM Doesn't one of them have a Gold badge... the other silver. That is all I really know. Menu dei Motori 11-05-2002, 09:52 AM hm i can´t remember Fod 11-08-2002, 12:00 PM the differences are pracitcally impossible to spot... being 1, the Engine and 2, obviously the badges and thats all!!! (to my knowledge) the gold badge is an option with any TVR (god knows why) think Lexus do the same but don't quote me on that! Fod 11-08-2002, 12:13 PM right done a little bit of home work on this.. Tuscan: 3.4L, Six Cyl Tuscan S: 4.0L, Six Cyl Tuscan R: (probably, no specs listed) 4.5L they're all Six Cyl so there is no Tuscan Speed 6 the only Speed 6 is the Cerbera jsb88 11-08-2002, 01:05 PM Really? mmm... Menu dei Motori 11-08-2002, 04:06 PM hmm ok Fod 11-08-2002, 04:11 PM yeah that's the way it is!! i think (only think!) the Tuscan R is the one they race now in challenge races etc.. i used to have the sales info on it but can't find it and it seems TVR no longer sell it as an option maybe it's gone exclusively for racing i dont really know! jsb88 11-09-2002, 02:12 AM Could I still get one though? Fod 11-09-2002, 03:22 AM urrrrrm to be honest im not sure.... you could get hold of a fully fledged race version then convert it for road use but im sure the cost will out weigh the gain.... although it would be the fastest road version by far and the cost to maintain it would be high!.... or i guess you could find out for sure what engine is in the Tuscan R buy the Tuscan then get an engine transplant .....again this will be expensive... you best bet is to get on to TVR and ask them although they are not to helpfull (infact almost useless unless you're asking about one of there cars from a show room!!!) you could go nuts and get a Speed 12 engine transplanted and have a Tuscan 12.. 800 bhp in a car that small and light would be phenominal.. although im sure there's a million and one engineering and mechanical reasons why that wouldnt be straight forward or cheap Menu dei Motori 11-09-2002, 05:18 AM here we go from a magazine: all tvr: Cerbera Speed 6 Motor R6 3966ccm³ 350 hp Cerbera 4,2 Motor V8 4185 ccm³ 360 hp Cerbera 4,5 Motor V8 4475 420 hp Tamora Motor R6 3605 350 hp Chimaera 450 Motor V8 4546 285 (?) hp Chimaera 500 Motor V8 4988 320 (?) hp Tuscan Speed six Motor V6 3996 350 hp Fod 11-09-2002, 06:04 AM frankly the magazine got it wrong! all the info i've put up (xcept my own thoughts) has come from TVR themselves... i think when the Tuscan was first out they might of called it a speed 6 but seing as there's been three models of the same car each one with variations on a 6 cyl engine they could all be called speed 6 so it's not used.. the Tuscan you refer to is just a Tuscan, then they go up as posted before Tuscan S and Tuscan R jsb88 11-09-2002, 08:47 AM One of use should really speak to TVR to clarify all of this. Putting a V12 into a Tuscan... FUN! Fod 11-09-2002, 09:49 AM i've just read an article saying that there will be a Tuscan R released in 2003 will have a 4.0ltr striaght 6.. just what i'd read! jsb88 11-09-2002, 09:52 AM Really? released in america or just europe? Fod 11-09-2002, 09:56 AM should imagine it will be just europe or even UK specific TVR dont seem to be in a rush to go to north america jsb88 11-09-2002, 10:02 AM I don't think they should... Too many problems. Pennzoil GT-R 11-09-2002, 10:14 AM 1: The TVR in Swordfish is just a plain Tuscan Speed Six, there was a programme on the making of the movie over here and it was saying how they managed to get the TVR over to the US. 2: The Tuscan R has already been released here, it was at the motorshow and has had a few road tests, including a trip to LeMans. The signs are VERY good for it. Menu dei Motori 11-09-2002, 04:18 PM thanks Pennzoil jsb88 11-11-2002, 03:37 PM Now all is told and we are enlightened. Thank you! :) Fod 11-11-2002, 04:42 PM the Tuscan R isn't on sale yet it's made and tested yeah everyone knows about it yet they might even of registered advanced orders but it's not available... I saw the original Speed 12 at the motor show when they said it was for sale and thats what started my whole quest (which has reached some what biblical proportions).. generally they use the shows to gage interest this doesn't always mean they are available!! Menu dei Motori 11-12-2002, 07:19 AM well lets hope to see some tvr´s more often the next time jsb88 11-12-2002, 08:03 AM I hate it when companies do that. They do it just to annoy you! I have seen many cars that I would certainly buy, but never get released! It is just not fair!:( Menu dei Motori 11-13-2002, 07:42 AM of which cars do you think? jsb88 11-14-2002, 01:59 AM XK180 for a start. Menu dei Motori 11-14-2002, 04:43 AM hmmm i´ll look at google for a pic jsb88 11-14-2002, 08:21 AM Go to www.highresautoimages.com I enquired and they said 'NO'. It is where all the competition cars come from. :) Menu dei Motori 11-16-2002, 07:43 AM well i´m just copying the pics jsb88 11-16-2002, 10:25 AM If you photoshop every single car in the Gallery on highresautoimages.com you cannot lose! :D But you would also need to get a life afterwards. White Riot 12-16-2003, 06:37 PM Its a Normal 3.6 Litre Tuscan Speed 6, The difference between the Speed Six and the Tuscan S is that the Tuscan S has a little Lip spoiler and the rear lights are placed vertically, Go to www.highresautoimages.com then you will be able to see. :) Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2013
