Can I change keyless fobs to another car?

I currently own a 1996 Regal Custom with keyless entry and two working fobs. It has 200K on it and is starting to require more maintenance that I think it's worth. I went car shopping and found a 1996 Regal GS with half the miles, leather seats, moonroof, etc... BUT the dealer only had one key and no fobs. What I would like to do is use the fobs from the other car on this new one. I can only assume that it is keyless entry capable ( I don't know how to find out for sure.) I found a couple of programming options on this forum and will try them out. Are there any words of wisdom that I should know before I try this?
Thanks all.

It seems that I was successful.

As mentioned in this forum, the wire in the trunk did the trick. I tried both fobs one at a time and when one would work the other would stop working and vice versa. I even put one in the basement at the far side of the house so no signal could reach it, but it still didn't work after I brought it up. What did work was when I grounded the wire, let the locks cycle through, then pressed a button on both remotes at the same time. Now they both work great, and with both cars at the same time!

Did you grounded the wire on both cars and which wire in trunk you talking
about. Your findings are interesting.
