It doest seem like im getting much of anything for a boost or even feel a little faster even at a higher RPM could there be something wrong with my vtec? i hurd that its possibility for the vtec solenoid to go is that true? or is it just because i have a d16y8 engine? i thougth i would feel soemthign because i have a catback, header and intake.

You should feel it, if not, it's probably not working.
I don't know how you can troubleshoot it though,
best to have it put on a analyzer at the dealer, I guess.

check oil level, any electrical problem should throw a CEL.
