i was told by a friend that you can put a VG30DE in a 240SX using the j30 auto-manual tranny... i'm not asking about the engine swap, i just wanted to know if the j30 tranny was really auto/maual... just intrigueing(?) to me... and there arent any around here for me to look at, and i cant find it on the internet. so i decided to come here and ask.

the J30 is an automatic 4 speed. you are able to shift it 1st-3rd, but thre is no clutch. J30 has a torque converter while a manual VG30DE would have a clutch, presure plate and flywheel.
