Another issue with my dads 98 Bravada....

A/C is fully charged, checked it with my gauge. But when you turn the A/C on, the compressor won't engage. For a quick test, ran a hot wire to the battery from the compressor, and the compressor engaged and cold air came out. Any suggestions?

Automatic AC controls?
If so any body codes?

IGN E and AC fuse good?

Clutch relay good?

On the accumulator low pressure switch jumper the two wires and see if compressor runs.

And remember it is a ground circuit switch so no 12 volt jumper wires on it.

Let us know what jumping the two wires on low pressure switch does.

I have the same problem with my 98 jimmy. fuses good. jumped pressure switch and compressor clutch engaged. replaced switch. same problem. have pressure. The schrader vavle in the accumulator at the low pressure switch leaks, but i don't imagine that should effect the operation. I added some pressure because the manual I have said to test at 50 psi, and the clutch cycled on and off continuously every 5 seconds or so. Plugged orifice?
