I know this sounds stupid but I need to know what size tire came on a 2000 chevy silverado regular cab. I want to replace some tires on that model truck and what is on there now is 255/70/16. Don't know if that is the correct size or not.:screwy:

thanks

what you have on there is right in between stock sizes. 245 or 265 depending on if it is a Z71 the Z gets a slightly larger tire. I would run a 265/70, or if you want crank your TB's a little and run a 285/70.

According to carsdirect.com, 255-70-16s was one of the size to come stock on your Truck. See http://www.carsdirect.com/research/specs?cat=2&make=CH&modelid=55&acode=USB00CHT271A0&year=2000

I belive 255/70/16 is a factory option. I put 265/75/16s on my 2wd with no rubbing.

The great thing about factory wheels is you can stuff a huge tire in there and if you rub at all, its not much. I have seen guys get 36's or true 35's in there with just a bodylift. With my 20x10's I needed approx. 10 inches of lift to not rub with 35's
