Hi I have a 99 saab 9-3 turbo 4cyl the dealer says the iol seal for the turbo is out and using oil. It has 100k does this sound right and what about a used turbo how much does a turbo cost/

I don't have a lot of experience with turbo's... but that doesn't sound beyond reason to me. The oil seal is very important! If it gives out that Turbo is finished!

From what I remember... turbo's don't even have bearings in them. They just have bushings that cause the it to glide on a thin layer of oil as it spins at like 30,000 rpms.

Can't you get a rebuild kit or something, and just replace the oil seal?
