Hello

When I purchased the van over a year ago the overdrive button worked fine but now when I push the button to turn off the overdrive it doesn't do anything. I have checked all the fuses. Its been like this for a very long time and I have done alot of reading and I have not come accross this problem anywhere. The closet thing I have heard is the wiring runs over or under the steering column and it gets worn until it not longer works on 2002 - explorers. The transmission works fine, except that its alway in overdriver but no blinking light or codes.

2002 Windstar Sport 3.8

Please advise

Thanks

Make sure that the 10amp fuse in position #14 is good ... this is in the panel near driver's left foot.

I have heard of these switches failing and having to be replaced. It is a normally "open" switch that supplies a 12v signal to terminal 21 of the instrument panel.
