Sorry for asking abruptly without introduction... i have an 84 733i that cracked the head recently. I have a friend with an L7 that is going to sell for parts if I don't take it by tomorrow... good engine, tranny, etc. Front end is wrecked, but it runs fine. Does anyone know if engine, tranny, etc will bolt? My current engine is 2.3, I think. Again, sorry for abruptness, but i have to decide by tomorrow... Thanks for your help!

They are both M30 engines thus the same design. If you want the get the same power output as the 3.5 in your car you should build over the injection system aswell or at least the injection computer.

I'm not sure but I think the 86 735 uses the motronic injection system and the 84 the L-jetronic. So you might have to build over the wiring harnas aswell....
