96 monte 3.1 cyl3 misfire2Sluggos 06-21-2007, 05:00 AM I'm getting a "PO303" cylinder 3 misfire code from my car. Changed plugs, swapped wires around in order to eliminate them and did the same thing with the coils. I followed the book on how to use the test light to check the crank trigger and yet the same code comes back on. If I "press and hold" the accelerator to the floor, the rpm's rev up to 4000 and pulsates between 4000 & 4200. Almost as if there's a rev limiter. The fuel injector is making the tell tale "clicking" sound as if it was working. If the fuel injector was partially clogged why would it do that "rev limiter" thing. Sounds like an ignition problem is still the culprit. Any ideas? Please help. 2Sluggos 06-24-2007, 08:21 AM I figured it out. I took off the coils and lightly sanded the crank trigger terminals that the coils sit on. Cleared the code and I'm ready to go. richtazz 06-25-2007, 10:20 PM Just for info, your car does have a rev limiter, set to 4k rpm in neutral and park to keep you from blowing it up while free revving. 2Sluggos 06-26-2007, 04:40 AM Thank you for the info. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
