A few questions.

I just bought a 97 Cavalier, 5-speed manual, and im wondering about a few things.

First off, this is my first manual, and the shifting is kinda sloppy, any way to in-expesively fix that?

Then, I have no tackometer (SP), if i want this car to be a sporty car, im thinking i will need one in the long run, so where can i get a good one that will work with the car, with out spending $600.

Lowering kits? Which would work best for the car? my struts have gone bad as well as possibly the springs.

Thanks :)

also, will http://www.elgauges.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=319 fit on my car and give me a tach, or does my car have to come stock with a tach to have a tach in dash

Tranny it would be hard to tell without more info.

Tach, you can get the gauge cluster out of an 95-98 w/ a tach (as long as it is a rolling odometer) and swap it in. i recentally done this cost me 40 bucks and took about 30 mins to do. Also you do not need a factory tach to have an aftermarket tach.

how low do you want to go?

it does not make sense to me for a mannual car not to have a tach, who ever thought of that is retarded

Yeah im having to learn how to drive it by ear, and im scared im over doing the engine. When you say take it out of a 95-98, you mean take the whole collum correct? cause i cant just take the face plate and the thingy behind it (lol im a noob) what else do i need to grab out of the engin to allow it to read.
