The car was wrecked at Willow Springs race track in California about 2 years ago. It has since been repaired and has changed hands several times. The damage wasn't too serious. The dirt and grime make it look far worse than it really was. I made several bids on the car when it was offered for sale in the wrecked condition, but I did not end up with the car.

Was it only bodywork damage? From what I can tell it looks alright on the inside areas.

The car was pretty badly damaged. An entirely new nose was needed, but it was repaired instead. The work completed on the car was satifactory, but not up to the standards that I feel the car deserved. There was considerable damage around the car as it struck objects as it spun. There was damage to the undertray, the left door jam, the rear diffuser, the right rear rocker panel, one of the inner fenders was fractured badly, and many other areas. All in all, there was a lot of carbon fiber work to be done on the car. In the front, the subframe was completely destroyed. It required a new subframe, new radiators, and all front end components. The carbon fiber tub (the main chassis) was okay, however as were the electronics, the interior and the motor for the most part. There was some suspension damage, but it was fairly minimal.
Not an easy job to say the least. Now that it is done, I don't feel that it was done to the proper level it could have been done. Of course, that is why it has been trading hands for around $550,000 rather than $750,000.

Any Idea on the repair costs of the car? I read on the M5 forum that an F50 rearended someone and the cost for a new front bumper was around $90,000 USD when completely fixed. I will try to find pics.

That sounds about right for damage to the nose of the car. The entire hood section is very expensive. New replacement parts are well over $100,000 with all of the components fitted, such as lights, turn signals, front nose cone, etc. I would guess, that the damage required a new nose, possibly repair to the hood, and a repaint of the nose section (also very expensive). But by the price, it sounds that the repair was done properly.
The F50 that was hit hard in the nose and repaired that I was describing probably cost somewhere close to $100,000 to repair. The reason it would be close to the same price is because it sounds as though the car you mentioned was repaired correctly with replacement parts rather than patch repairing panels that really should not be repaired. Such is the case with this car, it was poorly repaired to cut costs. It is not a car that I have interest in offering to any of my clients.
