Hi!
After having the tranny fail and hammer like a sledgehammer, I got today to where I was going to pull it out. I got to where I have all the mechanicals out from the tranny and was trying to remove the nuts from the starter opening. I got the first on out, cranked the engine, got the second one out, then the engine won't move at all. I'm afraid to snap the crankshaft bolt if I put more force on it. What is wrong???
Can the tranny be locked up so the flywheel won't turn?
Please help!

Is the tranny housing still bolted to the engine? And are all mounts still in place?
How are you cranking the engine? I usually use a large screwdriver in the flexplate toothed ring.
You may end up having to take the back cover off of the tranny and pull the valve cover and pump shaft as a start to see if things will loosen up. If not ... drop the engine and tranny along with the sub-frame ... that's the way Ford installed it, all together.
