Hi, all! I want to change the transmission filter in my high mileage 94 Grand Caravan. I have done this on several other vehicles. This one is old enough that even with the bolts out, the pan is stuck to the transmission block such that I can not get it off. I have tried tapping around the edges, etc., but I do not want to pry too much for fear of scoring the pan and block seal. Any ideas?

A rubber mallet will usually do the trick. A solid lick on the corners will usually break it free.

The RTV sealant is holding the pan. Since you have all the screws off, put a big plastic container underneath and stick a screwdriver or a wooden shim in a corner and twist, get ready for a big splash.
