97 Regal LS door hinge problems!caddiali 06-16-2007, 04:32 PM i recently had to replace the psgr lower door hinge, only GM has this part. In fact had to wait for a special order to arrive from the factory, $144 taxes in. Had it installed at body shop and lubed with special grease for $50. Ok works fine, like new. Now the drivers side hinge is acting up! Opens and closes fine, just that annoying NOTICEABLE sound! Do any other of you Regal or Buick owners out there experience this problem too? And oh ya greasing it with WD40 failed. R these hinges just trouble-proned? The plant where the Regal was assembled in Oshawa, ON #2 was voted among the best in North America by JD P&A. To this day it, I still believe its true cause I love this car! thanks for any feedback BNaylor 06-17-2007, 01:34 AM Not to my knowledge but it is possible depending on where you live and the amount of use the door gets. The door hinges on both of my Regals work fine and never replaced. I think I had a squeaking sound a few times on our '99 LS but lubed it with Honda brand motorcycle chain lube. And yes both were assembled at the Oshawa plant. caddiali 06-17-2007, 01:56 PM wow u own 2 regals? I live in Toronto, ON, and the psgr door gets very little use! By the way out of all your cars which one is your favorite, bnaylor? Did you ever think about getting a Grand National? Those cars are worth so much $$$$ and r very desirable I would like to own one some day as a collector car! Thanks always for your advice and quick replies! Thanks always for your advice and quick replies! Take care No problem and you are welcome. I guess I am like you I love my Regals. The LS is the workhorse of the family and the GS is the fun, pleasure car. The GS is more fun to drive due to the supercharged engine and better handling/suspension. I think the Canadians do a great job on assembly of GM cars versus in the U.S. My Pontiac Grand Prix GTP was made in Kansas and I had more problems with it than any of the Regals. I would love to find a GNX in good condition and at a reasonable cost but I haven't seen any in my area. And if available somewhere in the country expensive. Oh well. :dunno: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
