Does the 1990 Suburban have a crankshaft position sensor? I don't think so. What engine is in it, 5.0 or 5.7 V8? 7.4 V8? 4.3 V6?

The SandMan is right. A 1990 should have had a conventional HEI distributor, EST system, and triggering via the pickup coil in the distributor.

Are you reading some sort of error code indicating a CKP signal problem?

It should not have a crank shaft position sensor but it will have a knock sensor, which it similar, whats the problem?
