Brake lights stay ona_alyte 06-12-2007, 12:07 AM I saw one other post from '05 regarding this issue but it didn't get any response. I'll try my luck in '07. I parked my '98 JGC today & when I came back an hour later, I noticed that all the brake lights were on. I hoped it was the reflection from the sun, but upon further examination I realized all brake lights were on even though the car was off (emergency brake was also off). I pressed on the brakes a few times & started the vehicle a couple times & eventually they turned off. Any ideas on what could cause the brake lights to remain on when the vehicle has been turned off? bringselpup 06-12-2007, 07:46 AM I would start out by checking the switch on the pedal assembly. Maybe it's loose or fubar. Or is the pedal sloppy and not returning to position for some reason? JeepForever 06-28-2007, 09:50 AM I have my brake light stick on sometimes after I'm in 4WD-LOW. It goes off after I pull back on the brake peddle. I'm not sure why it gets stuck - it doesn't happen all the time, but it's always fixed by ensuring the parking brake is off and brake peddle is not pushed down at all. kahjdh 06-30-2007, 08:56 PM Just fixed that problem on mine. My switch was bad (~$12 advance auto parts) out if yours still works take a flat head screw driver and pull the pin out of the end of the switch, not all the way, and let go of the pedal and it will reset itself. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
