96 Blazer no turn signals

I have a 96 blazer LT 4dr 4wd. Last night the turn signals quit working. I have brake lights and when the turn signal is in the on position the brake lites in the rear dims. I checked all fuses and swapped the flasher unit with the hazzard flasher which was working (same part #), still no turn signals. The indicator lights dont even come on in the dash. Any Ideas? Put new flasher units in both slots and all is working again. 1 unit was very hot after trying it in both slots. Dont know if it was due to faulty wirirng in unit or....? Will keep an eye on it.

if the problem comes back change all the light bulbs, front and rear, at the same time. make sure you have the water resitant goop on all the bulb bases and check the lamp cover gaskets for brittleness and missing pieces.
