Ok, I got in a wreck so Im doing body work myself. I painted my mirror caps and they came out great nice and smooth. But when I went to clearcoat my fenders they came out rough. I let my dad spray my fenders which could be a mistake. Could spraying to fast over the fenders create the roughness. When I painted my mirror caps i noticed I was spraying much slower then my dad was. Thanks for any help. I'm just using a bc/cc.

definitely wrong forum. Did i read that right that you are sparying a real car fender with a small airbrush? That must be taking you forever. The roughness is caused by not letting enough paint build up and you are basically getting little drops of clear building up. Wet sand it with some 800 if it is thick, if it isn't hit it with some 1000 or 2000 grit paper. Then go back with the clear, slowly and let it build up. I wouldn't expect perfection on a fender with such a small gun. I would be surprised if the color is uniform over the entire surface of the fender
