1993 Legend clutch replacement picsLadyNRedSi 06-05-2007, 08:52 PM apparently the previous owner had a shop try and replace the clutch and they couldn't get the extension shaft plug out. apparently their 1/2" drive slipped out a couple of times rounding it out. jer got the great idea to have our friend dan weld our 1/2" right to the plug, it was crude but worked... http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch004.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch002.jpg check out all the "lock tite" pre-loaded on the new plug....! http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch044.jpg huge pilot bearing... http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch017.jpg even more massive throw-out bearing... http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch024.jpg side view.. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch023.jpg pressure plate... http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch031.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch029.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch033.jpg clutch disc... http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch026.jpg dual mass flywheel. DO NO RESURFACE! this is a pic of the one we had resurfaced and it wouldn't disengauge after we put it back together. no i didn't take a pic of the brand new flywheel, i forgot. d'oh! http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch010.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch009.jpg if you've replaced clutches you'll notice this is a backwards set-up. the fork pulls out. the disc sorta floats on the bearing. on the ground this is what it looks like.. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch034.jpg this is what it looks like installed in the car... http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch041.jpg a sort of side view... http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s197/ladynredsi/Legendclutch040.jpg if somebody does a search and pulls up this thread, please call your local Acura and price out the parts before you decide to do it yourself. it all needs to be replaced, including the flywheel! expect 7-10hrs shop time if you take it to a mechanic. Killa_CRX 06-05-2007, 09:13 PM That's an interesting flywheel, I can see how resurfacing would cause a clearance issue... pretty neat... The clutch pulling out to release is nothing new though... MK3 and MK4 Supra clutches are like that. LadyNRedSi 06-05-2007, 10:03 PM the clutch pulling out isn't new, hyundai's have it :icon16: ....but it's different compared to your average honda/acura. thought i would point it out for the people who hadn't seen it before, being i posted this in the civic section. now i need to get the del sol pics out of the camera, LoL. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
