1997 Jeep GC-L Starting ProblemsEasyEric 06-05-2007, 08:00 PM My 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo has a problem. When I start my car, it sounds like its gonna start, but doesn't. I then crank and give it gas 1 or 2 more times and then it starts. This always happens when it's a cold start and a lot of times when warm. The only time it starts the first time is if it's off less than 5 minutes. Any ideas what is going on? Thanks everyone. Another problem... When I fill up on gas, my vehicle seems to leak quite a bit of gas out from underneath the car when I get home. It leaks all over the ground. Is this normal? I heard my vehicle has an overfill mechanism or something. Any ideas? SteveB05 06-05-2007, 09:49 PM It is typical for the check valve in the fuel pump to fail, allowing the fuel pressure to bleed off. Try this...turn the key on for 2 seconds, then off, then on again for 2 seconds, then off then try to start it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
