Supercharge 1999 w/65,xxx miles??

As the title implies, I'm wanting to supercharge my 1999 mx-5. I'm not talking 20 pounds of boost or anything, this is my daily driver. I want to get the JR supercharger kit, which runs 6-8 psi. Would it just be a really ridiculous idea to bolt on a supercharger to my car with 65,xxx miles, without building the bottom end or rebuilding the stock engine? I'm new to the Miata world. I've had my car for a few months now, and it seems like a champ, it was treated great.
Second item to discuss: It will need the timing belt/chain (I don't know which it is) changed in the near future, and definately before boost. Is this a do it yourself job or not? Any suggestions for manuals?
Finally: Has anyone cleaned out the hydraulic lifters? Mine are a little noisy and I'd like to fix that asap. How should I go about that, manuals?
Thanks for the help in advance, and sorry about the long arse post.

Well, I can't really answer any of your questions directly, only offer an opinion. If you've driven it for a few months and it feels strong and you've had no issues then odds are you'd be fine without rebuilding the bottom end, however you really can never be sure. If you have the money or could have the money by waiting and saving for an extra bit of time, you probably will want to rebuild. You'll sleep better at night knowing your engine won't explode, and your car will be faster. Especially if you can do it yourself or have friends who can help you.
Are your lifters clicking?
