hi the LED mileage reading (97 Regal LS, 160km) on the IP blinks at times. Looks like its ready to just stop displaying and go out dark. Already my RPM display area on the left has burned out. Do u think this mileage reading is about to burn out too?

Also is replacing the display info on the dash a big job??

This is a common problem. Most owners wind up replacing the complete IP Cluster. However, when the IP is replaced the current mileage will need to be programmed in. Here is a link that has certain components that go bad causing your issues and could be repaired DIY although not recommended. Procedure is for a Regal GS but should be applicable to a LS model.
