95 Contour

Any suggestions for replacing backup light switch on top of transmission (5-speed manual) was able to get bolts off but when removing switch, unit gets caught on back of starter by less than 1/2" (great design!!) have moved all the hydraulic lines out of way. any way to get this off without having to take off starter which looks like a pretty big job since you cant see any of the mount bolts.
