hi, i decided for my current car that my system is fine and since i will be getting a scion tc in like 6-8 months i might as well start looking for a system for it.

ok i was looking at these 3.

either a Jl audio 2 12w7 or a 2 13w7

2 Re audio se12

or 1 Re audio 15" xxx

now this is for a dialy driver the biggest alternator i can find for it is 300 amps so i can give it decent power without having to worry to much if the battery is getting charged.

You do know that the new XXX has a mounting depth of 13", and needs a huge enclosure. That would be alot in a tc. An SX would probably be loud enough in a coupe. Or something of equal potential.

a 2.5cuft box is only 17x17x15 w/slot fits perfectly in a tc (35cuft cargo area)

i got one 13w7 in an accord and one more at jl getting re-coned, i'll show it when it gets back...

the only way your going to need 300amps is if your pushing 4000 watts
and trying to hold it steady like pushing a test-tone for a couple of seconds at a competition.

to get 2000 steady or dynamic watts out of any capable amp using 12-14v, all you need
is a 2 farad cap and something in the range of 150amps from your alt/battery

75 amps will easily do the trick and get you 1000 watts

i would still get the 300 amp for 3 reasons room to grow. it should in theory last longer because of the heat from not doing it max and because i can either get a 185 amp one for a 300 amp. those are the only 2 available and btw i think i am going to go with the 2 13w7 and possiablity of using 2 alpine pdx1 1000 to power it because of the way the voice coils are. (dvc 1.5 ohm)

that's a kick-ass way of thinking, (future proof)...
but at the same time, (fyi), you can run an alt at rated power for 100,000 miles

hell's yea especially in a hatch back car. yo my freind that i will post here sometimes with is problems he is only running 300 watts in his second gen eclipse but that is almost as loud as mine but you can feel the force of the subs in mine. of and btw i got my first ticket for having my system to louda t 4 in the morning:evillol:

that's what higher power nets you, you have have better transients
