98 GC a/c not working

I have a 98 GC 6-cylinder and I can not get the a/c to work. I was driving w/the a/c on, it cut out for about 30 sec then came back on. Did it again, but never came back on. Checked all the fuses/relays and they seem to be okay. The blower motor works and I replaced the resistor and still no air. At times, a very small amount blows, the same speed whether on high or low. Any help appreciated : )

does the compressor cycle at all?

are you saying the a/c does not work (no cold air) or just not blow any air out of the vents?

The compressor is working. When I turn the air on, at times a small amount comes out, but it never gets cold.

No air as in its not blowing air at all? or less then usual?

I dont mean cold air, I mean any air. Is it as forcefull as it normally is?

If you have the autoclimate control you should be able to pull the error codes from it to see if you have a blend door issue. Not sure if 98s had this problem. I know 99's did.

yea I was a lil confused as well, between the a/c cutting out (to me means warm air) and blowing lil air no matter what speed it is set on (means blow motor problem).

jeepgurl7, usually if the resistor goes bad you will only have HIGH mode for the fan (blower motor). now the A/C wouldn't have anything to do with the blower motor not blowing enough air. The blow motor only blowing a low (speed) amount of air could be caused by a bad blower motor or even a bad signal to the motor from the control unit.
