Recently, I sold my 1997 240SX due to some hospital bills needing paid and the fact that it was dented up due to two parking lot accidents. So, I just picked up a new 1990 240SX (my third) which you can see below. It looks beautiful. I've not seen a 240 that looks this clean for sale in a long time and it only has 102,000 miles on it. The dash sensors aren't hooked up so currently the tach, speedometer, and gas gauge don't work but that shouldn't be much of an issue I hope. It's only a wiring issue and while I haven't dealt with the wiring on a 240SX before, I couldn't imagine it being a huge problem.

Now, the only thing I'd like some advice on is a problem I only noticed after getting on the highway. I think it's some sort of fuel issue but I'd like to hear what everyone else thinks. While driving in fifth gear at random times in various speeds between 70-100mph it feels like suddenly there is no gas getting to the engine, the rpms drop, and the speed gradually slows down. You pump the gas a little bit and it jumps forward as it gets gas again and starts driving like new. Any ideas?

I also posted this same topic on various other forums so I apologize to those of you who see it multiple times.

Maybe the reason that the car only has 102,000 miles is because the speedometer doesnt work. 0 mph = 0 miles driven

im not sure about this, but i thought i remember hearing there is a fuel cut or something along those lines when at a certain rpm in fifth. I forget. Just a fuzzy rememberance.

wasnt it like 118? my speedo in my S13 went to 110, and i easily had it past 110-115 going to the meet 2 hours away lol Then again, i never did actually hit the limiter so i dont know what was up.

I think its 112. I got it UP to 115 but I think thats only cuz the engine was still going just shortly after the cut off. I never got it to 118 and I was reading it off my HUD.

How about this............don't the thing red-line at that speed? I have a 89 240sx 5-speed and it does 3300 at 70mph. I have burried the needle on her a couple times though. Never noticed a cut.
