If you can only get 1 car- 1 car! and not sell it, which car would you get any why?

02-23-2001, 05:11 PM
Somethings that i would like:

Porsche 959
Ferrari F50
McLaren F1
Stealth B6
Jaguar XJ220
Mercedes CLKGTR

i can't make up my mind

02-23-2001, 07:11 PM
I somehow don't think you could get the CLK GTR.

This is a really tough call. I hate comparo's with such limitations. But, I'd look for a used F1, but if I couldn't find one for that cheap I think I'd go with either an F50, or maybe just something like a 355 and have some money left to insure it:D

A 2001 Ferrari 360 Modena Spyder F1....

02-23-2001, 10:26 PM
Nissan Skyline GT-R
Pronounce this name gently, it's almost like praying...

02-23-2001, 11:09 PM
Well I would get a Porsche 959 for $400,000 and leave the $600,000 in mods.

J.T. Marlin
02-24-2001, 09:37 AM
It's a friggin Nissan for God'sakes!

02-24-2001, 10:07 AM
Mod a 959? Why would you ruin such a great car? There is no need to mod it anyway.

I would like an F40, because it could take the freakin' ass right out of you. :D

J.T. Marlin
02-24-2001, 10:50 AM
I'd buy a either a 360 Modena Spyder F1, Ferrari F60 or McLaren F1 but the last two ONLY assuming I have $1 million to buy JUST a car and about $10 million in money to live on...

02-24-2001, 04:16 PM
I'd have to say McLaren F1.
It costs 1 mil, why leave even a penny?

J.T. Marlin
02-24-2001, 07:05 PM
That's why I said that I would need atleast $10 million or more to live off of and $1 million for a car. This topic is "The car to get for 1 million dollars." not "What would you do with 1 million dollars?". Get me?

02-26-2001, 08:41 AM
This is easy for me: Mclaren F1

BTW kennyh the clk-gtr is somethin like 1.5 mill

02-26-2001, 12:10 PM
:)... i figured that after i posted it.

02-28-2001, 07:40 AM
Hey guys, the Mclarens aren't made anymore and so they probably appreciated in value pushing them well over 1 mil. The CLK-GTR is 2.2 million. I'd take a Hyundai Accent. :D

02-28-2001, 08:28 AM
Maybe I would get a Bentley Continental SC or a Mercedes Maybach

02-28-2001, 12:45 PM
there was a mclaren for sale on e-bay, it was at $788,000 in it's last day, when i was lookin at it

02-28-2001, 03:31 PM
Seriously, I would take a Bugatti EB 18/3 or /4 Veyron, the one that can do 406 km/h.

03-02-2001, 10:45 AM
ahh...yes the quad turbo, 8.0 liter 1001 din HP V16 engined Bugatti EB16/4 veyron with leather seats, chrome everywhere, styling to kill for,and oh did I mention over 900 ft./Lb torque?! Launching like a fighter jet off the line....more powerful than any non tuner production car ever made, moreelegant than the EB110 ever could dream to be....I WANT ONE!!!!! It goes very well with Bugatti the words of the immortal Ettore Bugatti ,"nothing is too beautiful; nothing is too expensive." What a statement....and what a car.

03-02-2001, 01:55 PM
I don't really like the styling. I'm still in love with teh EB110.

03-02-2001, 04:33 PM
my fav. is the Pagani, but if i had a million then i probably would have enough left over for it, so probably the 16/4 veyron or eb110!

03-02-2001, 05:54 PM
I'm actually starting to love Bugatti to.. wierd there cars are amazing! Weren't they the first to come up with the "W" engine? I think the new fast ones are cooler than anything! :)

03-05-2001, 03:28 PM
i didn't use to care for it.. but now I do. oh yeah, and innotech, do you have another one of those c12's on the front of your site that isn't all blurred and doesn't have your logo?

Racer 20
03-07-2001, 04:30 PM
I'd get a custom car.

McLaren F1 frame and engine
Calsonic Skyline GTR turbos
Mobil 1 NSX suspension or whatever...

etc. etc.

06-12-2001, 01:54 PM
a million bucks is a lot to blow on a car, and anything other than a mclaren is almost not worth it. The bugatti is close, and it may be a much faster car, but it will doubtfully ever be what the mclaren was to the enthusiast public. Gimme a Mosler mt900tt, and blow the rest buying vettes for my friends and fraternity bros.

06-12-2001, 02:45 PM
w engines are a vw thing... vw owns bugatti, and the w will first appear in a passat... a w8 w/280somethin hp...

also... f1s are going roughly 900k used...
that is a number from mclaren... thas why they arent makin more...
and...i would buy a jag xj220, just cuz i like the style, but first choice is the bugatti quad turbo...

06-17-2001, 09:37 PM
This one would be surprisingly very easy for me: Koenigsegg CC.

However, I did just check a web site with info on it, and I was surprised that it was so cheap. I had thought that it rang in at about $800K, but to my surprise its base price is listed as $268,674 - much cheaper than I thought! :D

06-17-2001, 11:01 PM
I too am very surprised by the CC's low price. The mt900tt also is 260K, but the koenigsegg has much better build quality... It weighs less due to its more intensive use of carbon fiber, and has 5 more hp than the mosler. its close, but I'd have to lean towards the koenigsegg too now... despite its somewhat odd profile. Its exactly the opposite of the f50... any viewpoint normal to one of the planes of the car gives weird impressions, but slightly offset ones are breathtaking....

06-18-2001, 01:40 AM
Agreed with the CC impressions from slightly off-set angles. Question: what's your info source on the the Koenigsegg having better build quality than the Mosler? I'm not questioning you, by the way, I'm just curious where you found this out. With a guy like Mosler, I would think the build quality of his automobiles would be the best in the business.

For me, among those great looks, light carbon fiber body, etc., I like the versatility of the design that matches a 0 to 60 time of 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 242 mph. To me that says excellent traction, very wisely spaced gears, low drag coefficient, and a bunch of other similar attributes that stand as positive testament to smart design. This is just a winning car.

07-16-2001, 08:33 AM
i would buy a MINI MORRIS. (the Old ones) and a house, then sit and laugh while you guys worry about your cars.

07-16-2001, 12:40 PM
you can live in a car, but u can't drive a house :D
when the whole world starts thinking like that (morris minor and a house).. there will be no more little kids starting blankly at lamborghini countachs and then growing up to conjure the next big thing in the world of transporation. Most people already think that way, but those people don't come to this forum.

07-17-2001, 04:00 AM
well it just proves how many people come to this forum without humour. What do u think id buy a mini morris...hell NO.

Id buy every single EVO lancer made, plus a house.

07-17-2001, 04:35 AM
C5-R with no restrictors on it and ill still have about 500k left over.

07-17-2001, 04:40 AM
Toyota GT-One Road Version.

07-17-2001, 06:33 AM
Id prefer a CLK-GTR over that car..but it still looks neat, whats its speeds??

07-17-2001, 03:45 PM
i think that car looks kinda ugly

07-17-2001, 11:12 PM
but hey its pretty good for a Toyota, i never knew toyota made any cars like this..

07-18-2001, 12:15 AM
It's also called the TS020. Toyota used it in '97 and '98 as its Le Mans racer. So, they had to build a road version to qualify. The '98 road version had 591 hp and weighed 1984 lbs. Torque is in the 400s of lb-ft. Tuned for racing it put out 672 hp and 470 lb-ft. It's my favorite GT racing body. :D

07-30-2001, 11:19 PM
Any Z nissan or Skyline...I would also consider a hmm 2002 Maxima =)

07-31-2001, 01:27 AM
You wouldn't believe what Toyota can do.

Have you seen the Road & Track with the 'Toyota Supercar' in it?

08-12-2001, 12:47 AM
hmmm i would get a hemi cuda convertable 4 speed plenty fast, looks good and fun to drive

S Brake
08-12-2001, 02:15 PM
For me, it would definately be a Mclaren F1, I am in love with that car. but my second choice would be an F50 because that was one of the first Ferrari's that i fell in love with.

09-08-2001, 10:26 PM
If I had a million dollars I would definetely buy a 1995 Ford Escort

Put it into making a Gold Engine Block for the Escort!

09-10-2001, 02:39 PM
anything with Ferrari written on it:D (almost forgot to capatilize Ferrari)

09-10-2001, 04:11 PM
First off, Lancerz, it MORRIS MINI MINOR.
you can live in a car, but u can't drive a house , thats my slogan!!!!!!!! Plagiarism, Plagiarism:D

For me, its a Mclaren F1, or McLaren F1 LM (If I could get it for a million), or a Bugatti EB 16/4 Veyron, that car is amazing.

09-10-2001, 07:25 PM
maybe a Porsche 962 (if I could find one) or a Ferrari 333 SP(if I could find a raced one for 1 mill).

and the 333 SP:

Racing Rice
09-12-2001, 12:03 PM
1 million dollars - Id get the cheaper S4 and mod the Crap out of it.

Stock I would have to say a diablo, just cause they look mean.

09-12-2001, 03:25 PM
Whoa! That 962 is amazing! It's just like the one I saw Alan De Cadenet (SP) drive on SPDVN, also, is that a 917 in the background?

09-12-2001, 03:30 PM
82 pinto hatchback just playin probaly go with calisonic skyline

09-12-2001, 05:08 PM
what does (SP) stand for? I always see people write it, but never bother to ask

09-12-2001, 05:34 PM
Yeah, that's exactly like the won Alain de Cadenet drove on SPDVN. What an awesome car. I think that one on the side may be a 908 long tail, but it could be 917 (they were almost identical). Gang$tarr, I think SP stands for Sports Prototype, but I'm not sure. Anyone else know?

09-12-2001, 07:17 PM
SP means spelling. they're not sure if they spelled it right.

09-12-2001, 08:11 PM
LOL :) Yes I'm sure.

09-12-2001, 09:00 PM
LOL Yes I'm sure.

09-13-2001, 10:05 AM
oh, Hermunn's right. I thought he was asking about SP in 333 SP, not spelling:

I would get a 67 mustang fastback, red with black racing stripes. I would get a total ownage 351 windsor or 390, with a forged titanium block, a roots or twin-screw blower, and just about every power adder imagineable :)

09-23-2001, 12:33 AM
what does total ownage mean?
and how expensive is a forged titanium block, and hell, would it be worth it? and why not just turbo it if you are going with something that strong and lightweight? it makes more sense than an old school s/c. not that they are bad, but a turbo v8 is reeeediculously cool...

dude the windsor blocks suck go with a clevland

09-23-2001, 10:05 AM
Uh, all 351's arent very good. A 350 chevy is better, or a ford or chevy 427. Or a mopar 383, but the 426 hemi is king. How about the 427 ZL-1, with 585 hp???
