Tranny upgrades

I am looking for some more pep out of my transmission. Anyone know of an upgraded torque converter for a 2003 P71? I have also heard of something called a j-mod. Anyone done it to their own car, and if so how were the results?

The J-mod ( Jerry's mod ) refers to opening of the acc plate in your trans with a 1000th drill bit allowing more fluid to pass faster.

TC Question. I have "heard" of guys using Murauder TC's.The 2003 MM and the 2003 CV are a DRIECT swap.....Yes its an upgrade from the P71 TC. Ebay is your friend

Sounds interesting about the MM converter swap. I'm gonna look into it more and see it's possible. COOL. Thanx

I checked out the website for Blue Oval Chips. They offer a mercury marauder torque coverter. The website suggests that to use it on a crown vic the flexplate has to be replaced/upgraded. I also caught an interest in the Stage 1, 11.25" torque converter. Sells for $450. It needs a new flexplate as well.
