Hi, my first WIP in here. Some of you may remember my black and white Carrera GT I've posted last year. Since then I have worked on some new cars -I will post in completed later.

Anyway - the works are already preety advanced because I have started the kit some time ago.
I'm using the carbon template set from SMS, as well as SMS and S27 photoetched sets (Hiroboy will now know where his stuff is used in Poland - we have some small grupbuild of CGT). Also I'm using Crazy Modeller mesh for the rear cover - both S27 and SMS are inexact, CM photoetched nuts and bolts, Como seat belts and Acustion tire valves. And it's going to be black - Gunze 157 Super Black.

The engine was detailed with some wires and solder. I'm trying to do the exhaust manifold (interceptor, collector) from 2mm solder - Tamiya didn't do it properly. When I will finish the manifold i post some pics. Friend is doing that form 2mm alu rod - his job is much better.

I've also added some wires to the brak calippers. Added some screws and detailed a little bit:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/dargent/carrera%20gt/CGT24.jpg

And finally painted them with TS Chrome Yellow and applied decals:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/dargent/carrera%20gt/CGT26.jpg

Because the SMS ans S27 sets are complementary, I've used parts from both of them to detail breake discs, and drilled some holes:

The rear cover with S27 mesh which is now chnged for the CM hexagonal mesh. Anyway this mesh looks much more better than Tamiya decal.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/dargent/carrera%20gt/CGT52.jpg

I have reworked the rear shocks to add more realism - that still needs a lot of work, but I'm on the good way:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/dargent/carrera%20gt/CGT50.jpg

I have added working shocks to the rear cover which I made with 0,9 and 0,5mm needle.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/dargent/carrera%20gt/CGT78.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/dargent/carrera%20gt/CGT81.jpg

The frame is almost completed with the CF:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/dargent/carrera%20gt/CGT63.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/dargent/carrera%20gt/CGT66.jpg

It was hard to use one piece from SMS to cover the rear part of it, so I have used many smaller pieces to do that - this shows how many pieces I have used:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/dargent/carrera%20gt/CGT67.jpg

Now - the interior which I may say is rather finished - just needs some minor works. I have used the S27 pedals and foot rests, detailed the center console with some round p/e parts as buttons and added some bits and boobs here and there to get more realism. Of course flocking on the floor. And the most visible - I have used SMS Elaphant pattern over the interior parts painted in red. Seat belts will come later.

wow, beautiful work. The brake calipers and the elephant decals look awesome. You sprayed the red after the decal was positioned and dry?

Superb job in any area: engine is clean and well detailed, calipers are stunning like also rotors, CF job is neat, interiors aren't for my taste but speacking of craftmanship, ever superb (very nice trims too). The english is also good (at least to me LOL)

I have to agree with everybody thus far. The work is absolutely top notch, but the red elephant is not my personal style. But if it makes you happy, that's all that matters, because your skills are excellent.

Thanks guys for comments.

MidMazar - I have layed a coat of MM gloss red over the seats and rest of the red elements and then applied decals. With a lot of SET and SOL. Then I just airbrushed some MM semigloss clear over it. I could lay a clear red over the decals - that would make them a little bit less sharp.

Godfather23 - probably Klutz will bring more modellers in here as far as I know him.

Wojtek - post your one in here.

I know that the interior is controversial, but my first one in CGT was rather calm, so this one ought to be much more crazy. And it is, I think.

Killer job - I love this build.

I wouldn't have the "jajas" to do the elephant decal myself, but I love watching someone else do it :D

Your clean builds always depress me

Sweet...Makes me want to get a load of SMS decals lol.

CM photoetched nuts and bolts

Are these part of the CM set? Or do they sell nuts and bolts alone?
If they do could you post the serial #?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve - the CM set # is EP0003. Looks like this:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/dargent/carrera%20gt/EP0003.jpg

I have managed to do the collector (2mm solder). Mayby it doesn't look as it should exactly, but in my opinion is much more better than what Tamiya gives us.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v639/dargent/carrera%20gt/CGT88.jpg

In comparison with Tamiya:

And how it looks on the engine:

I'm rather a peeper:naughty: in here, but when I saw this somehow familiar carrera I had to post! There is just a "crocodile dundee" style hat missing in this wacky interior:p I'm impressed with your job on that one, looking forward for more!
