JB Weld to fix cracked turbo

All right, so I'm parting out the ol' DSM and I have quite a few people interested in my turbo. FOREVER I had a problem with a boost leak but I couldn't figure out where it was coming from for the longest time. Well I finally pulled the turbo for the first time yesterday and found a pretty big crack running to the wastegate hole. I've used JB Weld before with amazing results, and I'm almost 100% sure it will work, but I wanted to see if anybody had used it to fix their cracked turbo before. So, has anybody? I'm going to do it regardless but I wanted some feedback first.

I really dont think that it will work. I'm not sure how jb weld will react with extreme heat but I think it will just burn right off. And I wouldn't try to sell a turbo that you have put jb weld on.

Properties (psi)
Tensile Strength: 3960
Adhesion: 1800
Flex Strength: 7320
Tensile Lap Shear: 1040
Shrinkage: 0.0%
Resistant to: 500° F

Mechanics -- you can use J-B WELD with confidence. It is designed for safe, reliable, permanent repairs in engine compartments and heated environments up to 500° F. It's strong as steel and impervious to water, gasoline, chemicals, and acids. Working with J-B WELD is quick, easy, and convenient -- and saves you time, work, and money!

Not recommended for use on manifolds, exhaust systems, and other engine components which normally operate at temperatures above 500° F.

All right, so I'm guessing the turbo will get to at least 500 degrees? And if so, how will I be able to fix this problem? Is it just beyond repair?

If it's just a stock 14b I would just toss it, it's not worth getting fixed IMO.

Ok point taken. I was going to sell the turbo, but since it's cracked I guess I'll just skip that. I have a 13g too and those are good for ~200HP right? My friend is wanting to turbo his Accord and he isn't upgrading internals, so this should be fine for low boost correct?

Well if he want's something free, I guess you could make it work. He would need a manifold with a mitsu flange though.

I know exhaust gas temps at the valve can be almost 1400 degrees so im guessing the exhaust isnt gonna get cool enough by the turbo to use JB weld on it

Yeah, I've seen turbos glow red after a couple back to back pulls, but I've never seen a valve cover do that.

Yea, I was driving down the interstate the other day around 85-90mph for probably 45min or so. When we got off the interstate the whole turbo was glowing red. It was actually pretty cool, I got a pic so I will put it up soon.
