Guys I have a 05 Trailblazer 6 cylinder 4X4 I got into an accident and the rear Axle from the dif got bend I need to replace it. Gladly the housing is still good just need an axle, this is a 3.42 Ratio Diff. Not sure how many splines does the axle has. Does anyone know how many splines does it have? I know some came with 28 or 30. Also does anyone know of a place where I can buy one used for a reasonable price? Regular Diff Not limited slip.

Do you mean the axle flange where the wheel mounts is bent. I don't think a salvage yard is just going to sell you an axle. An OE parts source is your best bet here. Until you get it out know one will know how many splines, if in fact there are 2 different types.

Two different types of diff or axles?

There is only one differential either a locker or non locker. The axle shafts should be the same. The housings are different. If you give the info to any salvage yard or dealer their books take all this into account, you are getting ahead of yourself here.

yes, go to a dealer parts dept. with your VIN, they can fix you right up. Or, at least give you the info you need.
