WIP-ae86 levinevil_hanzel 05-17-2007, 09:07 PM hi here's my WIPs right now, and i have created a separate thread for this. i bought the ae86 for a dollar at a hobby store, unfortunately it doent have a rear hatch glass, so im gonna fabricate one from acrylic sheet. this is also the first time i did custom work for front bumper and spoiler. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31532.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31529.jpg the story: anyways, the build had taken a turn. originally it will be a black body/ red bumpers-trimmings paint scheme, but my editor (i work at a car online magazine) saw this ae86, asked if i could somehow paint it in our magazine's battle colors. so it will be blue with red and white trims. oh, the plan is to build the ae86 as a budget daily driver/weekend drifter/racer. so expect to see some scratches and zip ties this model will be on display for our magazine's street party next month, so most of my builds are halted. here are some updates on my build: fitment of rear glass hatch(the kit didnt have one) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31620.jpg hood vent http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31619.jpg rear spoiler all smoothened up.muffler i will be using. yes th muffler is dirty, and has a lot of scratches. i'm going for the used kinda battered look of a battle car. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31618.jpg side view, stance of the ae86 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31617.jpg front bumper. a little more sanding and putty to smoothen it, then it will be ready for primer http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31616.jpg interior shot 1, half cage and fuel cell http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31615.jpg interior shot 2, bucket seat with 4-point harness and stock seating http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31614.jpg thanks for looking. C & C welcome!!! hanzel. MidnightWangan 05-18-2007, 04:35 AM Twin Hachis are lookin' good, nice work on the front bumpers & hood vent. U gonna putty the edges of the rear spolier to 'merge' it into a singular piece with the rear hatch? evil_hanzel 05-20-2007, 06:14 AM nah, the spoiler will not be merged with the hatch. it will have lxan windows. oh, BTW, the hachis are actually quadruplets. :D im gonna build them in different styles. :D:D evil_hanzel 05-24-2007, 08:58 PM WIP ae86 levin primered the body, a few holes and a little more putty/sanding http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/_models/SUC31640.jpg rear spoiler turned put nice and smooth http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/_models/SUC31639.jpg not bad for a first timer doing custom work eh? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/_models/SUC31637.jpg WIP mazda FC3s RX7 already primered, with a new front chin from a nissan skyline R32. i didnt like the stance of the front bumper, so i added a little something to make aggressive but stylish. and im trying to replicate the inital D rx7 of ryosuke(if i can find the tailights) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/_models/SUC31635.jpg the FC with RS watanabe rims and aero sidemirrors http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/_models/SUC31634.jpg WIP mitsubishi evo 6 time attack primered http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/_models/SUC31644.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/_models/SUC31641.jpg some minor WIP im doing while waiting for paints: WIP mitsubishi starion http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/_models/SUC31661.jpg WIP nissan 300ZR http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/_models/SUC31659.jpg WIP VW golf mark II http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/_models/SUC31650.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/_models/SUC31649.jpg and lastly, my cars: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/_models/SUC31658.jpg thanks for looking!!! hanzel zak78 05-25-2007, 06:43 AM Hey, that's the first time I've seen a Starion! Front spoiler on the 86 looks quite good as well. gtidude 05-25-2007, 09:09 AM can we get some close ups of the cars on the shelves? MidnightWangan 05-25-2007, 02:29 PM Yeah clearer pics of the collection please. :p :) i luv drift 05-25-2007, 08:19 PM Nice to see you working on the AE86! The interior looks really good, a harcdore race car! You have to tell me where you got the seatbelts from, or did you make them on your own? Anyway it looks good! Defenetily want to see more. :grinyes: The FC3S looks really good to! looks like the one from Inital D evil_hanzel 05-26-2007, 07:18 AM i made the seatbelts from vynil sticker and some metal tape. i dont have any access to PE parts so custom fabrication is the way to go. to everyone else, ok, i'll get clearer pics. most of my collection consists diecast and assorted scale cars evil_hanzel 05-31-2007, 09:01 PM update time: FC3S near completion. about 80 percent: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31720.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31718.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31715.jpg i still dont have the tailights im looking for...this would do for the meantimt. i still have another set of these tailights, unpainted http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31717.jpg the rims, RS watanabes. left it unpainted. real watanabes have the same finish. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31723.jpg started a new one, a rebuild of a civic hatch http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31721.jpg impul rims http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31722.jpg zak78 06-01-2007, 06:49 PM Nice job on the rollcage, Hanzel! Nick evil_hanzel 06-02-2007, 10:45 PM disaster struck the FC3S......\ the black paitn for the window trims reacted with the clear i was using, totally messed the body. the car is now being stripped, i gutted the hood and transplated a hood vent from a JGTC R34 skyline. it now looks like a RE amemiya hood. :D:D:D evil_hanzel 06-04-2007, 08:44 PM UPDATE time: mazda FC3S interior pics. teat fitting only. need to detail the interior a bit more. just a basic and smple interior http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31752.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31751.jpg the FC3S' new hood http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31746.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31748.jpg the evo 6: now painted body: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31753.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31755.jpg zak78 06-04-2007, 09:48 PM Whoa, that Evo is eye-popping! The RE-type hood on the RX-7 looks great! Really sorry to hear that the paintjob went bad. What types of black trim paint and clear were you using? evil_hanzel 06-04-2007, 10:45 PM i was using automotive clear. :D:D:D, i think the clear was too strong. evil_hanzel 06-05-2007, 09:18 PM that FC3S is testing my patience. it just wont cooperate with me. so i'm just gonna finish this body, and build it as it is now.. anyways, i headed back to the shop last night and got another FC3S kit for 3USD. i'm going to this over again. i'm not giving up on my white FC3S. :D:D:D so here she is now. a blue FC, mismatched wheels, and some bumper tap scratches. im going to build this one as a typical JDM drift car, scratches and all. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31766.jpg we'll just have to wait for the ressurection of the white FC sometime soon. and update on my ae86 levin. just got it painted with a layer of blue also.another coat and i'm fine. just have to fabricate lexan windows. :D:D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31767.jpg MidnightWangan 06-06-2007, 08:05 AM Lovin that deep electric blue on the FC and of course the deep-dish rims too. :) zak78 06-07-2007, 12:30 AM I dig the FC's mismatch wheels, but I think I would strip the paint off the front wheels and paint them either silver or black. evil_hanzel 06-12-2007, 09:20 PM i felt the need to hack at something, and this is the result. a crazy skyline http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31904.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31905.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31906.jpg a R32 skyline pickup. my cars need a service truck anyway, and i dont have a truck kit, so i made one. :D:D:D. only, i dont have a front bumper for this skyline yet. i seem to have lost the bumper and the dash.:(:(:(:( anyways anyone want to donate a bumper? ill just tint the windows for this build. and some updates: my ae86, just a preview, just finished painting the body http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31790.jpg the mazda FC, unfortunately, got shelved. i'll just continue it some other time, or make a new one, since i bought a new FC kit. evil_hanzel 06-13-2007, 10:45 PM update on my levin: nearing completion. i know the way i painted the front corner lens is wrong, and is not really how the levin lights are, but i like it this way, orange all around. :D:D the color scheme is blue, with dark blue bumpers, spoiler, skirts and side mouldings. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31908.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/evil_hanzel/SUC31909.jpg i think i still have to dro the car, don't you think? or the stance is just right? zak78 06-14-2007, 10:37 AM Whoa, good job on the color combo! The only thing I'd add is a black door pull. The drop is just right, in my opinion. evil_hanzel 06-14-2007, 08:58 PM thanks. yup, i still need to paint the door handles. still a lot of work to do> :D:D i luv drift 06-16-2007, 08:04 AM that ae86 is looking good!
