I recently bought a 2000 Civic Si that has Tokico Blue shocks and H&R springs, 1.75 lower in front and 1.5 lower in the rear. My wheels are 17" with 205/40/17 tires. I just ordered a set of Ground Control LE Coilovers to raise the car in Winter, lower it in the Summer. Does anyone know what the ride quality will be like ? Right now its pretty good with the H&R's but I'd rather the can be a little higher for ground clearance but I am afraid that the springs will be too compressed and the ride will be really harsh.

They should be fine. It all depends on which spring rates you ordered from Ground Control.

They said to get the Limited Edition kit. I dont know about the rates.

They tell me the front spring rate is 340 and the rear is 250

I put them on an Integra I used to have. The springs where too soft for my taste, I ended up wishing I had order them with stiffer springs.

See I'm running 350f/400r and that is on the border of being stiff. But i like it and has really improved my times for autocrossing.

Everyone's opinion on what is stiff and what is not is different though.

For a daily driver though ?

Go with 300f/350r as a compromise.

Anywho, is it usually better to get stiffer for the rears, and what's the advantage if so? My Teins I could have ordered with stiffer rates, but I chose not to, not knowing how stiff they would be in stock form. Anyways, mine came with 448f/224r respectively. The rears seemed a bit soft just looking at the numbers, but when tuned 6 clicks from the stiffest shock setting, they feel pretty stiff. But this going off the shock dampening control AS WELL as the spring rate, not solely on the spring rate as would be the case with normal struts like Tokico Blues.

Having stiffer rear springs is one way of minimizing understear, you can even get some oversteer with a stiffer rear suspension.
