Hi,
something new:
This is the body of the Revell kit:
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/3738386637326437.jpg
After puttying the front-door and the seams around the rear door, cutting away the B-pillar, enlarging the C-pillar and engraving the new bigger door it looks like this:
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/6136323566376166.jpg

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/3939306661343165.jpg
Next will be the inner door panels, cutting them according to the new door seams.

Hi Micha,
great start with a cool idea! Looks good - but I wouldn't want to open that looong door in a tight parking slot :uhoh:

I think it's to long, but it does look great. the C pillars should have a bit sharper line to them it's just a little to rounded

Seb,
that was my first impression, too. Printing this and an other side-view from this car and comparing the measures of the wheel-wells and the side between the wheels and fenders show, that they didnīt change the length/chassis.

Hi Seb,
no idea about the scale-inches; wheels incl. tires make 28 mm, but the wheels are 1:24, the Charger is 1:25

no thoughts about paint yet, first I must make the "hardware" looking right.

Just remember to make it FLAT black, haha. That was a big thing in the old Mopars... flat black decaling.

Hi,
finally some update photos:
the rear wheelwell was narrowed 2,5 mm from the rear
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/6138646235336239.jpg
the front wheelswall about 1 mm
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/3233306566646332.jpg
I think it is very hard to modify the doorpanels from 2 to 1 door.
So I used some sheet
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/6661366533346536.jpg
and built some upper edge and armrest.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/3032663334666431.jpg
Now I´ll blend everything with some putty and bring some details like door opener, speakers, ...

Exactly !!
Thus I intend to avoid that in some future time the different materials on the plastic master model ( styrene, sheet, superglue, putty, primer, ...) react in a bad way and may produce cracks etc.

Amazing, can you explain how you made the resin copy? I mean the mold, how many holes were used to fill with resin. Also how was the mold made, a tutorial would be awesome, i want to make a some resin copies of a corrado. The only thing is i don't want to mess it up since its oop.
The body came out great, just a few air bubbles. Keep us posted.

I never did casting at all and I think it is a bad idea to start with a body as a first casting project.

And: the body and inner door panels are available now in their shop for everybody, who is interested.

Hi,
well, I could be disappointed, but why?
I agreed that the transkit can be sold, no problem so far for me. Why should every interested modeler make the same job when you can get the 3 parts as a transkit?
