new toysr20det_s12 05-14-2007, 04:31 PM The new whip: a 1987 BMW 325IS i like it; not bad for 150$; only 100,000 on the clock http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s202/supra512/325IS004.jpg http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s202/supra512/325IS003.jpg http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s202/supra512/325IS005.jpg slideways... 05-14-2007, 08:58 PM how did you manage that one? nice car for a nice price. MetalHeadZaid 05-14-2007, 10:39 PM i've always wanted to throw a ca18 in one of those. sounds like fun. nissan_240sx 05-15-2007, 12:21 AM nice find sr20det_s12 05-15-2007, 08:13 AM im thinking of doing a ca18det/sr20det/rb20det/rb25det w/e it is its going to be nissan and turbo nissan_240sx 05-15-2007, 09:02 AM you forgot ka-t hehe slideways... 05-15-2007, 06:12 PM keep it an I6. sr20det_s12 05-16-2007, 09:10 AM How hard dou guys think it would be to do an rb engine? rps13freak 05-17-2007, 08:30 AM you should keep the i6. my friend build his up to 600hp. but you have to make sure the timing is good. my other friends(both his 325is) the timing went! 2.2 Straight six 05-18-2007, 05:07 AM im thinking of doing a ca18det/sr20det/rb20det/rb25det w/e it is its going to be nissan and turbo the stock BMW engines can make a lot of power. a 2.5-litre straight six like in that could easily handly 250bhp at the wheels with a turbo kit. if you upgrade the internals they can run up as much as 800bhp without issues. BMW engines are very strong. and "seasoned" blocks are stronger than new ones. there's little reason to change it, unless you want something individual. my friends built a BMW M5 straight six (with a 4-litre stroker) to 1,200bhp (at the fly) at their workshop. the tuning potential of BMW engines is huge. flicktitty 05-18-2007, 10:56 AM like stated before. keep the I6 in it. i've seen alot of videos of these cars with turbo setups in the 400+ RWHP Area. and what could be more fun then that? :smokin: Seriously it's your car do as you please just look into the stock motors ability before pulling it. 240SXSlideStar 05-25-2007, 04:08 PM the stock BMW engines can make a lot of power. a 2.5-litre straight six like in that could easily handly 250bhp at the wheels with a turbo kit. if you upgrade the internals they can run up as much as 800bhp without issues. I'm not sure why you keep refering to power in bhp because it's only whp that means anything. Crank, break, engine, whatever else horsepower doesn't mean shit all. 2.2 Straight six 05-26-2007, 04:13 PM bhp can be measured at either wheels or fly/crank. bhp stands for brake horse power. brake being the loading the dyno uses. so bhp is hp. just across the pond we say bhp. Hit_N_Run-player 05-26-2007, 07:42 PM bhp can be measured at either wheels or fly/crank. bhp stands for brake horse power. brake being the loading the dyno uses. so bhp is hp. just across the pond we say bhp. yeah, we dont care about BHP in the states, wheel horespower is where its at. 2.2 Straight six 05-27-2007, 08:40 PM like i said, you can measure bhp at the wheels. it's terminology. sr20det_s12 05-29-2007, 11:37 AM o well just saw that it blew a rear main seal so i gave it back to the guy before i got the title, anybody know when i can find an ae86 gts or an s14 body 240sx; not overpriced? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
