Ron KManiac 05-14-2007, 10:50 AM Hey Big**Mike: Which transmission do you have in your van, the 3-speed (P-R-N-D-2-1) or the electronic 4-speed (P-R-N-D-3-L)? You said you looked at the fluid and it looked fine. Did you check the fluid level? To see the proper fluid level you need to check it hot, with the engine idling in Park. Just pulling the tranny dipstick with the engine off you not give you the correct level. When was the last time the transmission was serviced (fluid & filter change)? This should be done every 30,000 miles. A partially clogged filter will delay upshift, especially when cold. This would be the first place to check if you have a 3-speed. If you have an electronic 4-speed, you may be experiencing "limp mode", where the transmission computer detects a problem and locks the tranny in second gear. The computer in the electronic transmission will record the error codes and these can be downloaded to diagnose the problem. Let us know which transmission you have, the last service date and the current fluid level, then we can better help you find your problem. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
