Get your wife to give you 3 lashings with a cane!

And EVO 6 thanks to 10 years advancment in technology would walk all over and old Esci Cosworth, but the Cosie is by far and away the cooler car! :smoker2: :smoker2:

the ford escort cosworth is developed from ford of europe. which by the way makes waaaaaay nicer cars then ford of america. now isn't that something to think about? well anyways, the cosworth is a rally bred version of the escort. its basically a turbo charged 4 wheel drive car that designed for quick 0-100mph acceleration, and to take sharp turns. but once you hit 100+ the car slows down alot just like any other rally bred cars. but as much as i lost the cosworth. i think that car is beautiful but i perfer the brutal looks of the evo 6 even more. and the evo 6 is considerable faster and better handling.

EVO 6. It does handle faster, but a lot of that is due to the amount of electronics that it has and the Cossie doesnt. Cosworth sounds like a tractor though. I'd never drive one. Lancia Delta Integrale EVO whips it, surely youve heard of it TatII?

i've heard of just the lancia delta integral. but not the evo. the lancia is a very nice looking hatch back even today it looks good, and it came out in 88. i love that 4 circular lamps, and it could still do 0-60 in mid 6's. how many hp did that thing have? i know its atleast 220hp though.

cossies arent as quick as an EVO, mainly due to the electronics. the cossie is basically the EVO of about 10 years ago. both are extremely quick, but technology has moved on.

0-60 in mid 6's??!?!?! Try 5.7! :D , and handling to shame 911's and imprezas ! check out the posts in the lancia forum about it.. it had 215bhp btw, and 4wd.. the EVO is the final (and best) incarnation of the Delta Integrale, a rallying legend, still to this day the most successful rally car in the world. Some people still think it could win a modern WRC rally, with the right team and backing.

uhh if you haven't noticed this is a thread about an evo and a cossie
not a Delta Integrale is no doubt a great car but this isn't exactly about it;)

uhh, is there any need to be pedantic about it? I have no intention of turning this thread into one about another car, but the Integrale is obviously related to these two cars so maybe some people want to read about it and discover a new car. Isnt that what forums are about, talking about cars? If you dont want to broaden your knowledge, avert your eyes, dont whine.

i aint whining, i know the integrale is sort of realated(turbo 4, awd and so on) but if we started a thread integrale vs evo or cossworth it would beat them so wouldn't be more towords the skyline?

what im sayiong is that the skyline can piss all over the cossie and the evo so does the delta inegrale so wouldn't that be a more fair comparo?

the only reason i started this thread is because i saw getaway in stockholm 2 (a supra vs an escort cossworth) and the escort kept gettin kicked on the straits but absolutly kick the supra on the corners so i tryed to find a car with simulare capabilities and the evo was the best pick apart from the subaru wrx and the ford focus.

I have to totaly disagree with that.

An esci given mods to make for its older age compared to the GTR would be easily as fast, and possibly faster due to its lighter weight.

And the EVO is easily a match for any GTR model, and when tuned are proving to be faster in Australia.

And of course on Gravel where the EVO and Esci belong the GTR would be left wallowing in the dust.

you have to remember that the skyline gtr (r32) was n rally competitions but im not sure which group it was in(it got kicked because it kept on winning even with weight added on) same thing happened on the track in australia.

Are you sure you don't mean the GTiR pulsar?
Im quite sure the Skyline would have been entered in Local Japanese Rallys, but it would not have been competitive, and I doubt it ever recieved factory surport. (but this is the internet, if Im wrong it should not be hard to do a little resurch and prove it. I recomend www.altavista for searching forgin language sites)

And the Skyline was not the only car to be banned from the Australian touring car series. It was all Turbo 4wd cars that were disallowed entry due to rule changes.
The Siera Cosworths (escorts big brother) were also kicking butt, and infact where a lot more succesfull than the GTR.

i know that the skyline was in the rally but not with nissan but private entries and in the australian races the gtr did go well and the last race sat bathurst (before it got kicked out) thanx to jim richerds famous speech about the crowd been called a pack off assholes ( which was very true) who could they boo one of the best race car drivers in oz plus bo one of the best sports cars in the world?? my :flipa: to that crowd and the only thing im not too happy about the skyline is that its not full time 4wd and the 4wd is very slow to catch on

The GTR was only ever entered in Bathurst, if I remember right 91 and 92, and of course it won both times.
However it was never used to the Touring car series.
The Sierra Cosworth had however been used for several years before 91, and in 91 and 92. It won Bathurst several times, and the Touring car title several more times.
It was the combination of both cars devastation of the Big old Aussie V8s that led to the rule changes.

During most of the late 80s, and even in 91 and 92 the old RWD R30 Skyline had been raced along side the V8s and been at a similar level, altough they handled better, they had less speed in a straight line.

And for the Record, Jim Richards got boo'd for two reasons.
The 2nd being he was a Kiwi. However he has since lived in Aussie for long enough, that when he won last month he was properly cheered.

And just because a Skyline has been rallied dosn't make it a great car.
Even Lada's and Trabants have been rallied.

trabant in rally man i have to see that hahahahahahaha

and the gtr isn't a great car just becuase it was in rally its just an great all rounder the reason it was called godzla and in japan the r32 was so good that no one wanted to go in the races against it!!:smoka: thats why 'r32's kick ass'!!!!
