:banghead:
went to replace rear pinion seal....
can anyone help me!?
i've called isuzu and they cant tell me what size rear end i have
even after they run my vin. they say the option info is blank... :screwy:
i have a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo LS
3.2 dohc 4wd with 4.10 gears on the diff tag...
10bolt
i was told that since my vin starts with the number 4 its made in america and that the american built rodeos had an 8 1/2" rear end
if it started with J its built in japan and has the 7 5/8" rear end
advance auto parts said that they had a rear pinion seal for my rodeo after finding out the supposed size...8 1/2".
well the outer "frame" of the seal is to small when placed into the rear end and the rubber seal itself is to big for the shaft.... now i have no wheels.... no idea what size rear end i have and a part being OVERNIGHTED on a gamble since i was told its a direct fit part....sad thing is i need this seal by wednesday and all local parts stores cant get any of the seals for the available rear ends for 3-5 days.. please help.... i dont care if its 3am and u have any info by all means call!!! 315-856-0399
thanks for any help.....

I searched for 2000 Rodeo and then searched for pinion seal and I think I found the one you are looking for (it has diagrams and part numbers).

All rodeos sold in the US are american built, in Lafeyette Indiana. All rodeos build after '98 should all have a Dana 44 rear (not sure about pre '98).

If nothing else call Merlin at St. Charles Isuzu 800-727-8066 he will find exactly what you need.
