The cheapest 'safe' route is like $100, but the right way is at least $800

U can get Eibachs for like $200... Its not gonna be a coilover but they are decent coil springs with a nice drop.

Tein S techs for about $140 or so.

You'll run into camber issues though. IDK how much eccentric camber bolts will help, but an alignment shop would be able to tell you. As long as you can dial the front to around 2.0° and the back below 1.5°, you'll be good. Some people even run as much as 2.5° up front with no abnormal wear.

The main thing that will kill you when you lower a car is the abnormal camber with toe settings thrown off. Most people lower their car and it hasn't been aligned in a while.

Toe will destroy your tires if you lower it too much.

People have run 7 degrees of camber with good tire wear, its just the toe that messes everything up. My tires are all worn out since I lowered it, but I'm gettin wheels soon so I am in no rush to fix it now

dropping a 240 isnt that bad really. Its cheaper in the long run to go with coils. Because of the added performance for only a few more hundred. I know a "few more hundred" sounds like alot, but over all the difference between coils and springs and struts is greater.

just doing springs on im assuming a 10 year old strut is bad. If you do it right your going to buy springs and struts. which will come close to the price of a decent set of coils.

7 degrees camber, 0 of toe, 0 of caster, daily driven, and even tire wear...

there is a whole other world of wheels and camber outside of AF, if you have 0 degrees of toe your not gonna experience the tire wear your alignment shop thinks you are...
