Are you removing the straps under the tank or trying to remove the frame bracket.
The emg brake cable should move over out of the road.
Some people remove the bed to get to the tank fuel unit.
If you do not have a lift and proper jack and stands to remove the tank take a look at how hard it is to unbolt your bed and set it back or off to get to the tank.
But either way what is the bad or what is it doing or not doing on yours or have you checked it out good?

Do what you have to do to get it out of the road.
But have you checked the ground and wiring as Old Master outlined in your lower post?
Good luck MT
